    Ramp run-type method

    Hi guys

    Please tell me what's a ramp run-type methods on te dyno/street ?

WOT sweep test is a acceleration (perhaps 1500rpm) to the redline at WOT

Ramp run and WOT sweep test to me are one on the same. On a load bearing Dyno, the rate of RPM/MPH increase is controlled by a programmbale value to increase or decrease the Ramp time from your trigger value to your end of test value.

You input various characteristic values defining the vehicle like weight, dynamics (air drag) engine/trans type etc. and the load is calculated (L&S calls it SMART Load) and used in determining the load.

On the street, the only way to increase the load is to find a hill or use other gears. Cylinder airmass can be used to determine max torque/cylinder pressure and timed for a set starting point to determine if spark/fuel changes improved or deceased performance.
