Switching LS1 PCM over for another. Plug and play???

I just installed my LS1 PCM into another LS1 powered car at my work and it worked.
The idle stumbled a bit in the first few seconds then climbed to 1K and then settled.

Now to try that car's PCM on my car.. please work please work

So it worked for both cars. Plug and play. No problems. No anti-theft immobolisers...

Which has me thinking (going back 10 years).. why did I "have to" take my car to my old/ex tuner to have him disable some security/anti-theft crap (according to him)? Seems like he lied and all he did instead was LOCK my PCM!



Correction.. he (and I) had to disable VATS. (and then he locked my PCM)
