2005 Pontiac Grand Prix wont read car

    Hello all,

Been on the forums here and there for a while. I rarely post, however recently my wife got a 2005 Grand Prix SC from a local. I tried reading the file and it starts to read then immediately fails the read and then attempts 3 more times until it stops. It spits out a phrase like "failed at loc. 8000.....or loc 3300 and each time does something different. The car has 99,000 miles and runs perfect. Has 2 BCM codes 1 theft system not programmed and another relating to the windshield wipers.

I have read briefly about doing a write entire from a tune online.....

Could any please chime in with their thoughts?

    Thank you

Try pulling out the radio fuse before you connect to the vehicle, then attempt to do your read. Don't put the fuse back untill you're all done and the car is definately off. This may help out, might not do anything different at all. Good luck.

2004+ grand prix's are very picky that's for sure.

Glad I never had that problem with my 2000 GTP.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

that's strange. I read and wrote to my 2004 GP many times no problems, however this was with 2.24 not 3.x.
