Do NOT use the Duramax 3.3bar 12623671 MAP sensor on small cam builds!

    Hi All,

I was having difficulties with a 3 bar SD OS tune on a 5.3 turbo build with a stock cam. Idle was unstable and trims were all over the place. At higher loads all was ok.

With the above MAP sensor, the offset is 33ish kpa. That means that it outputs 0.00 volts at 33kpa (20inches vacuum) and below. Not only does this make the engine want to run way rich the further below 33kpa you go, it also throws a P0107 MAP/baro too low. In my case baro went to 90kpa when this happened, even while the engine was running.

This may be documented elsewhere, but I didn't find anything this precise. Some people said the sensor was crap, but not why. I would think that since it's o, riginally a diesel application, the low MAP readings are never reached and therefore not a problem.

Threw in a 2 bar instead, and all was well, since it reads nice and low kpa. Of course, I corrected the offset and linear for the sensor first...

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Brady
