L76 A6 to manual transmission

Hi, I'm using a G8 GT A6 engine and E38 ecm in a hotrod swap, and we also swapped to a T-56. I'm having some trouble getting the VSS and tach to work. I'm using version 3.2.84, and I've seen posts like this that talked about the manual transmission selection being added to the software

But I can't seem to get either the VSS or tach working. Both have the wires added to the harness, and I've tried using the various settings like similar cars, but nothing works. Do I still need to swap to a different OS or maybe change the VIN? I've searched quite a bit, but not found anything that'll work. Granted I'm a newb, but I've worked through the system and some how to's and have my VATS, and DTC's under control. I even found the Park/Neutral table for why the car was cutting out at 4000rpm. Lots of things point to the ECM still thinking its an A6.
