why did my tuner do this??

I built an engine for a customer 383 ls6 with cnc heads, cam, long tubes, etc for a 2004 vette. I got the tune semi close using the tuning school methods I did a VE tune, MAF tune, WOT MAF tune, got it to idle and not stall, ran good no knock, and realized we were maxing out the injectors. so we changed those out with some FIC 42 lbs inputed the data and off to the dyno we went the next day
he looked over my work and made a few changes immediately without even looking at the car let alone a test drive or run on the dyno. He changed the ve table by smoothing it out, changed the maf curve completely, loaded the factory injector data for the 28 lbs ers, cuz he said mine was all off ( did not know I should only use id's cuz of poor data till now )
now here is my issues with the tune first off it runs fine no complaints there and I checked with my wideband again and its not lean so that's good but I had a little knock after the tune but none before and he lowered the timing. I had it stock. also why was calculated airmass vs tps vs rpm-p1514 error changed, p121 map error high and low changed, mass airflow max delta, and map calculated max and min? did he tune out the maf?

    mark rafay Z06 stock.hpt

    z06 long road test 7-29-16.hpl

    z06 58 psi data ltft enabled.hpt

ignore the injector data on the 58 psi tune I messed it all up

He didn't tune out the MAF, he disable your VE table because that's what most dyno tuners do. They want to get you in and out quickly without taking the time to tune the VE. Most people would never know because the vehicle will still drive okay and they don't know any better.

I'm not sure why he did those other changes.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Put the car back to stock, that tune is F-Up bad. I'm sorry it came out that way but after looking at it, WooW.

put what back to stock? everything? why what is so bad about it the car made 460 to the tire has a decent a/f ratio and runs good obviously I built it and have to warranty it so I want it perfectly safe

i watched him tune it and looked like a bunch of copy and paste from other tunes but what really bothered me tho was the massive smoothing of my ve table he did without even running or looking at the car or any logs i ran ahead of time

Some smoothing, if it was really choppy, isn't a bad thing.. if he just hit the smooth button 10x or something then that's another story

Just because a vehicle ran well at full throttle on a dyno doesnt mean it's going to run well at the thousand different throttle positions between idle and wide open. This is where VE tuning comes into play
