Serial logging does work on some WB's through a serial port on the computer though.

That would be a nice feature if they add it. Not sure what the polling times are on the AD inputs but I've been able to bit bang some simple serial stuff with some micro controllers I use around the shop.

Yeah, I dunno if it's possible. I suspect it is, but would require more effort than it's worth to make it work in a way it wasn't really intended to.
For now just use a USB to serial converter and run it that way if you want serial connectivity.
