Tried to read '16 Challenger SRT, controller unlocker failed?

As the title says, can this be read, or does the PCM need to be sent in for unlocking? I just want to read it for now, but got that message and before I spend more time doing reads, can it be read? Thanks

You can perform reads and view files before the pcm has been modified. It's actually a required part of the process before shipping the pcm in.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking also. Although, this car is late May '16 production, so maybe something changed? Why I asked.

Anyway, it gets better, I went to start the car to go to work tonight after trying to read it yesterday, and it has a CEL with no codes shown on the in-dash diagnostic display. I pulled the battery cable for about 20 minutes while here at work, and still have a CEL. Lovely. I guess I'll try sending a clear codes command from my laptop tomorrow when I get home. Not real happy about this now

Looks like the CEL fixed itself. Started the car to go home...and light gone.
