I apply a 200mS filter on the WB to smooth the trace.
Live it filters.
When I play back the filtering is gone.
Why is this?

THe filtering in the chart/gauge is only for the displayed number value, to make it more readable during live sessions.
We got this guy Not Sure, ...
If you want to more permanently "filter" the data then you can make a math parameter that averages the WB reading over whatever period of time you'd like.

I could have sworn that in earlier versions of 3.1 it stayed filtered on playback.
Old brain perhaps.
It's not possible to watch live while going down the dragstrip.......
:-)
Thanks

IF you smooth/average your data, it delays it on the time axis. Just keep that in mind. We were asking for a way to shift the time axis to the left for this reason. I have two things shown on the graph... unsmoothed WB, and smoothed WB. This way you can see how much it delays the time axis.
I feel like it's best to use unfiltered WB data in channels (fastest possible) for the histograms (charts) and use both for the graph... since the Histogram averages the data anyway. If you smooth the data coming in from the channels, then all the data is smoothed/delayed. I apply some filtering/smoothing in the graph only, and compare that to the unfiltered.

would it be better to slow/smooth the WB its self(not in hpt software ) to avoid the time shift in hpt?
Seems like it would have the same impact regardless. Either way it's slower/averaging data

I use the "TPS%" filter for WOT tuning. I set it to 82%. Kinda filters out the unwanted afr when you let off. I have almost zero error on my car.

You would have to enter math in the filter field on the graph settings for that item. As far as I'm aware it can only be done under graphs.
For a very basic example: ([50090.156] > 5) AND [50010.242]>160
Where 50090.156 would be throttle position in percent with an expression greater than 5 and 50010.242 is coolant temp in degrees Fahrenheit with an expression greater than 160.
This would display any value which met or exceeded the criteria I just listed in the demo. You could also add time limits in ms, an upper limit or additional parameters, etc.
The cool thing about graphs is it filters your view live and during playback. Even cooler, the data is stored raw without the filter. Sometimes I'll log a run and add a filter later when I'm viewing the data while other times I'll remove or change a filter because I need to see the data a different way.
