    6.0 LQ4 not reving past 4800.

Please post all the hints, questions and comments that you can think of. There is NO DUMB THOUGHT AT THIS POINT IN TIME.

First, with the basics. What I have.
    1. 01 Crew Cab S10 4wd
    2. 6.0 LQ4 Stock, no mods except headers.
    3. Manual 5 Speed Trans, NV3500- Cummins 5.9 internals.

I had an LS1 in it previously. It was a great engine, ran great, just not what you would need to tow your toys or tractors around, much less state to state. Everything worked as if it were completely factory. A/C, cruise, gauges and so on. Had a years time in the build. Sold that and moved on to an LQ4 6.0. Got everything swapped, made some changes for dissipating heat issues and other weakening areas.

I got the engine fired, ran half ass, and started studying some other stock programs from the same year trucks. Got a decent tune, drive it everyday, log my data and make some small adjustments. I have very little knowledge of how to tune, learning as I go.

My biggest problem is this, The engine will free rev, in neutral, to the rev limiter of 6200. In gear driving, it wont go past 4800 on a WOT pull. It just plains out and seems to have a type of soft limiter like you have hit the top speed limit, but has no such limit.

You ask the questions, make the comments and I will do the research. And hopefully overcome this.

well, first off, your fuel trims are way off, causing erratic fueling, that carry over into pe.

I would first verify what injectors you have and get the correct data into the tune, then get your ve and maf dialed. I would bet that would clear up a lot of your issue

I have tuned, adjusted and burn fuel and more fuel. Got the trims to this point. It seems that it goes from one extreme to another. I guess I need to adjust individual cells that wont cooperate. Still planes out around 4800 to 5000.

Check your abuse table unde TM.

You have it set to enable an abuse mode at anything over 0 rpm. Set it to 8,000. It might help.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

How are you adjusting the trims without logging MAF Hz?

I set it to 8k. No change. I thought the abuse mode was for autos only?

I updated to the 3.0 and didn't know how to log. In this log file I added cylinder misfire as well. I notice that the injectors are paining off to 25.5 lb/hr during the occurrence and then up to 27.5 during the deceleration after the occurrence.

Im curious to know, if the stock injectors flow enough to support this set up. It does have 1 5/8" primaries to a 2 1/2" collector and 2 1/2" on out. Free flow muffler.

Went through tune quickly saw a few funnies like Engine Overtemp enrichment is 1.59 and default inj pulse width is 0???? What injectors are in the setup.

here is a new Channel and Chart .xml to us as well as a MAF vs LT + ST Err graph, log with these and well see whats going on. It appears your throttle is closing, at least I think so...cant tell so I added accelerator pedal to the channel as well. Put all the torque management stuff back to stock and see if any difference. Do you have a wideband?

Your MAF is running between 8-9% rich at low Hz to almost 18% at 8000 Hz. or just before you go into PE. Not the best but make the adjust ment with the new graph I gave you and from 8000 Hz and up continue the -18% (multiply by .82).

My turn...how in the world are you supposed to tune if you don't know how the software works....read through the Help file in the scanner and go through the stickies in the Forum Scanner section by Carson and I.

These files get saved in their appropriate folders under Documents - HP Tuners- VCM Scanner...then you open them from the scanner to setup the channel, chart and add the series to you existing graph.

    25lb/hr injectors.

Learning is what I am trying to do here. I don't have the time to stop and take a course. I work 6 days a week 12 hrs a day and most 7th days I have side jobs. My truck is a project/daily driver. My family started over 3 times in 10 years with nothing but the clothes on our back. Asked for help from no one. I don't mind the work it takes to do this, but I need a little guidance along the way. Im not the programmer in any way yet, just the fabricator so far.

And I cant say how grateful I am to get help. My local tuning shops wont even talk to me for less than $700. I have to save that kind of money and then hope for the best on the Dyno.

I understand, it is just tough to help if you aren't familiar at all with the software. I didn't mean to come across harsh, its just to tune, you have to take some time to orient yourself with the process and operation of the software. HP Tuners has an online Help , Forum stickies by several of us and we offer a tutorial on tuning and HP Tuners 3,0 which might help you get started. Check out our website below.

In the mean time, do you understand what the files I sent you do and where they go?

I figured it out, and got the graphs and channels lined up. I will log data on the way home today, so it will be late evening before I get the results posted.
I have noticed a few things.
I severely need to get an intake box built to draw the air from the outside of the vehicle.
I also noticed this morning during an open hood display that my intake tube was a little flat. I think I need to get and aluminum tube to replace this. I need to get this built over the weekend and try again. I used this same set up on my LS1 and it did fine.

Keep in mind, I have DBW throttle.

Sounds good...I stay up late working anyways :-)

Again, do you have a wideband installed?

Then you are only going to be able to tune closed loop and "guess" at WOT....are you considering getting one or taking it to a Dyno shop once its running?
