Added flex fuel to my E38 G8. DIC MPG way off

Can't post tune right now, will do later.

I added flex fuel to my G8. I set the stoich table appropriately, and did the transient fueling blend modes. I also copied the fuel density table from 2009.5 G8 to account for the alcohol content.

I am running an E50 blend and I am seeing 20+ mpg on my DIC (no way this is correct, best I get on gas is about 14 to 15 and it was dead nuts accurate)

Is there another table I am not seeing?

Did you change injectors? And if so, do you have accurate data for them?

    No, injectors are stock.

I only changed the transient blend mode tables and the fuel density in addition to the basic flex fuel enable bits. It works great, I just find it hard to believe I am getting above 20 mpg in city now lol.

What'd you set fuel density as?

    Attached tune.

    Fuel density is 730,000.000 744,705.875 759,411.750 774,117.625 788,823.500

I noticed my gas gauge is not going down very quickly, almost like the MPG is legit. Does fuel density control the gas gauge as well?

People on here are going to say no, but I swear all I did on the last one I worked on was to correctly input the fuel density for the scaling I had done and the gauge went back to reading correctly - before that it was empty and said it had a 1/4 tank.....
    2010 Vette Stock Bottom LS3 - LS2 APS Twin Turbo Kit, Trick Flow Heads and Custom Cam - 12psi - 714rwhp and 820rwtq / 100hp Nitrous Shot starting at 3000 rpms - 948rwhp and 1044rwtq still on 93
    2011 Vette Cam Only Internal Mod in stock LS3 -- YSI @ 18psi - 811rwhp on 93 / 926rwhp on E60 & 1008rwhp with a 50 shot of nitrous all through a 6L80

Scaling for what? I wonder if maybe I need to do a write entire and not just a calibration. I'll try that tomorrow.

Fuel density is only used for the volumetric fuel consumption rate calculation. Seems like your fuel density is correct. Post a log perhaps.

    flex-fuel-scan.hpl
    main.cfg

    Using older scanner/editor 2.24.1166

Only reason I am not using the latest beta was because for some reason, it was missing a few flex fuel parameters. 3.0 was missing the same params as well, so I defaulted back to my old non beta version.

Engine diag -> airflow -> Flex Fuel params were the ones missing

Care to share the link? I just realized I never turned those on in mine either because they weren't there in 3.0.

I have it in my dropbox which I can't access at work, I'll link it once I can. The site I got it from is a paid site that requires login (6l80etuning.com)

Anyway, my MPG problem resolved today after the write entire. Got a cool 9.8 mpg coming to work today.

    Avg speed 30.7. Mpg 15.1.

Not completely horrendous. I think it's worth it.
