    05 LS2 in GTO - Knock Retard Decay Rate Safe values?

    Right now,

    1500rpm = 3.000 on higher g/cyl values
    2000rpm = 1.000
    2500rpm = 0.602
    3000rpm->8000rpm = 0.203

    So, my question is, what values can I tweak this to and still be safe? I notice the lower RPMS recover much faster (makes sense). Just wondering if I could put 3000rpm->4000rpm somewhere like 0.4 and still be safe?

    I'm sure I wouldn't notice a difference, and I'm sure it'd be best to leave alone to be safe but I'm just wondering what everyone does here....

    I have everything at 9.011 values (legacy from an
    older display basis). All that happens is, if you truly
    are running in ping conditions, you will "motorboat"
    along in light ping instead of burying it and crawling
    out. I also reduced my attack rate.

    Safe? Dunno. If you were getting into power adders
    especially the kind where things can go wrong in a
    hurry, an aggressive KR scheme is your friend. On a
    car that is well bedded in, tune-wise, and not being
    changed then you can play with more latitude / less
    fear of consequences.

    Lowering attack, raising decay makes finding the ping
    threshold (thus the best timing point, which is a few
    degrees less) more plain. Stock settings obscure the
    real ping situation for too long after the hit.
