    2008 Silverado E38 ECM - no tach signal on X1 48

E38 in a engine swap. There was no wire in the 48 slot in the X1 plug. I added the wire but there is no signal. Is there a setting in HP tuners that needs to be turned on? I have rpm showing up on my scan tool.

Did you add the pull up resistor?

Yes. I tried that. I'm getting nothing from the wire when chech I g with a volt meter. I have continuity when I check the wire end to end.

Change the Tach output from Serial to Crank.

Small update. I changed the tach to crank and now have a signal. The bad news is that now as soon as the engine fires, it pegs the tach at 9k rpm. I'm hoping I just have the wrong setting in the tach. I'll check it out tomorrow and post. Should I have also changed the resolution? If so, to what?

    I found this:

I hanged the resolution and now it works perfectly.
