    Keyless ignition

In the past I have worked with c5 Corvette's.
Last week I read a c6 with a keyless ignition.
I started the engine and read it and everything went well. My question is how are you suppose to read or write to the vehicle. In the past I always did it key on engine off.
With the keyless ignition I did not know how else to do it?
    Thanks

Doesn't it just go to ignition on engine off if you do not put the foot on the brake pedal to start it??
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

You always want to make sure you're in RUN position, engine not running. Push and hold the lower side of the start button for 15 seconds or so to go into run position.

Please note that this was specific to a Holden Commodore, but may be the same.
