    Crank Relearn

Quick question. Can we do a crank relearn procedure on the Coyote motors with the new scanner? It would save me a trip to the dealer if so.

    Thanks.

Don't know if you got your answer yet, but I just heard back from support and they are saying HP can not perform this function.

SCT X4 can definitely do it. It's under the special functions menu. I guess this is in the pipeline, but having the ability to do a crank relearn on these cars is a good tool to have.

Sct x4, Ford Racing ProCal, and Ford VCM2/IDS are capable if you have access to those.

Thanks guys. I had an x4 in laying around the shop and got it going.

Once HPT gets it added I can just throw that thing in the trash....

No need to use this function after tune flash, this needs to be done once flywheel was changed.

So did this ever end up become a reality I could really use it right now lol.

I am guessing not as I don't see any functions still under the Special Menu.

Contact support and ask for 3.1 beta. The option for this is now available for Ford Copperhead, ESYS, and Tricore ECUs.

Just tried doing this on my car and now it's giving me a crank not learned hard code that cannot be cleared with sct or hpt?

Guess this works really really well...

Sorry for my ignorance. What exactly happens in crank relearning?
Do they optimize fuel or spark? RPM ramp up is monitored?
I have problems with delayed cranking in a 2015 Mustang 5.0l
Coyote after flashing it with the Ford Racing ProCal (tune came
    with the supercharger kit).

Resynchornization of the cam/crank sensors. I had to replace a cam sensor and was doing crank relearn as a precaution and now the car has a cel that will not clear even though the program says the function was completed.

Thanks! So it doesn't make sense for me to carry out the function.

Not unless you throw the code. It's more common after a clutch install. Doesn't always happen, but does happen sometimes.
