    4th - 5th gear shift issue 6R80 S550 GT

    Hi all,

we have many voices here in Germany complaining about the issue that the automatic transmission 6R80 creates an issue while intending to shift manually with the shift paddels from 4th to 5th gear during WOT.

The issue displays as the following:

Shifting from 1st to 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear during WOT without any issue. BUT going on shifting from 4th to 5th gear during WOT will skip the 5th gear and go directly into 6th gear. Additionally the wrong number is displayed in the dash. It is showing the 5th gear, but the vehicle is in fact in 6th gear.

This issue is reproducible in all GT EU Auto Trannys. Any of you out there that can confirm this, or even has a fix ?

    Cheers,
    Mark

Maybe an EU top speed limiter?

    Hey Higgs,

thx but nope, already compared US file agianst EU file, no difference here.

The problem seems to be deeper, currently I am looking at the WOT Shift MAP "Shift RPM vs. Shift Gear" values, but I am to new to all this in order to understand al the dependencies and the proper function behind this Map.

Problem solved by adjusting corresponding OSS tables.

What changes to the OSS tables fixed the issue?

by looking in my versions once more I must revise my statement. It was not the OSS table, (this I changed for the Problem not being able to downshift from 6th to 5th gear with Kickdown)
In the moment the above problem was solved I did more changes:

As far as I can recall: I changed the Tranny rpm limits vs gear to 7100.
Raised the Max Torque vs. Engine Speed by +5% throughout the rpm range.
Raised the Trans WOT Shift RPM vs. Shift ID vs Gear (in Sport mode) from 6900 to 7100.
Raised the Trans WOT Shift RPM vs. ? vs. Gear to 7100

I recognise that I have to improve my version controlling.
Do you have the same Problem? where are you from ?

I'm in the US, I was just confused as to how changes to the OSS could have fixed the issue.

I was also curious in case I run into a similar issue. I am very proficient with GM transmissions but am still trying to learn more about Ford transmission calibration.
