V3.0 Layout files for LSA/LS9 but might also be helpful for other Gen 4 guys...

(And again, I'm being lazy and copy/pasteing a post I made elsewhere. This Layout does give a lot of the vital info for many Gen 4 engines though. BTW I friggin LOVE V3.0!!! Enjoy!)

Ok here's a set of LSA Layout, Charts and Channels files for you to try. (I don't use the Gauges window.) I actually don't log fuel trims on my Sky so I had to add them into these files. They should work though. If not, when you're in the Channels settings if you click on "show only supported" (or whatever it actually says) it will only show those parameters that are supported in whatever car you have the cable connected to at the time. That way you aren't adding PID's that your car doesn't actually have.

Let me know how these work for you. I kinda wrote the book (lol, not really) on sharing config files in the old HPT software, but I haven't shared any of these new files yet. It's WAAAAYYYYY easier and should work awesome for situations just like this. If you also load my Charts config, it will show up just like I have mine setup in the Chart view. My histogram settings won't really work for you because of my wideband, etc. Oh and there might be a couple PID's that aren't showing anything also since my widebands and MPVI external inputs aren't the same as yours. (edit- I actually went back and deleted the PID's that are only going to work in my car so they won't be confusing.) The stuff you need should all be there though. Good luck!

BTW anyone else that wants to try these config files, feel free to download them. I don't mind sharing!

59 views and 12 downloads and all I get are crickets? lol.

I added fuel pressure to these, I realized since I don't have a FPCM I'm not logging the factory fuel pressure PID's that you guys need to log.

Open the scanner program, go to the top and select "Layout", select "Open Layout", then navigate to wherever you saved my file with "Layout" in the title, open it.

Next, open the Channels window, select the folder with the gear on it, select "Open Channel Config", navigate to wherever you saved my file with "Channel Config" in the title, open it.

Let me know if you have any problems with all of that.

So I take it these are working for you guys? Is there anything that's not working? Does just loading the main Layout file give you everything, even in the Channel list? I posted all 4 of the files just in case they were needed but they probably aren't.

I want to go through the PID's and see if there's some cleaning up I can do. I think there are Polled parameters that I can switch to Broadcast parameters, that would speed up the logging rate. I'll post up the updated Layout files when I do.

Thanks for the super nice comments guys!!! I really appreciate the respect, it means a great deal coming from fellow HPTuners guys. Of all the forums I've been in, this one always impresses me. The amount of hella smart people and the amount of help given freely to others is amazing here. I've learned a ton from reading others posts on here, posting my own experiences is the least I can do to contribute.

Honestly the reason I have that link to my build video is because I know we're all "car guys". And what true car guy wouldn't enjoy seeing another true car guy's build experience? We all know it's a LOT of hard work, learning, trial and error, and ultimately a TON of enjoyment and satisfaction. I'm glad I was able to capture the essence of a build like that in a video so I could share it with others. It's really what the car is all about, sharing it with others. I'll let damn near anyone drive it, just so they can enjoy it too. And when somebody gives me a thumbs up on the road, I always try to answer with a little burnout or rev. lol. (My wife actually does the same in her CTS-V Wagon. Just yesterday a guy gave her a big thumbs up when they were on the freeway. What does she do? Drops it into 3rd and stomps on it! She said the guy was smiling and waving like crazy!)

Anyway, thanks again for the nice comments. I think it's so cool that something I built for myself has also made so many others smile or be inspired to push themselves a little further.

Haven't tried the files...but thankyou for sharing. I really wanted to say great job on that Sky.... that's an awesome swap. I did a conversion on my Camaro shortly after Keith swapped his firebird way back when.... but this is on another level. Props
