98 fuel gauge issues on 99+ swap

Hi everybody did a 99+ 411 pcm swap in my 98 trans am and my fuel gauge does work. Pulled the pumps out put in a new sender unit that was doubled checked at the pcm pin 56 and was recording 18 ohms empty and 248 full with a ohm meter. I am pretty sure that its in the tune but do not know what to put in hp tuners. i think bill already did the fuel segment swap dont know been a few years since i messed with this car please look at my tune. the guage always reads full and never moves even with me moving the sender around myself

IIRC, 98's body wiring is totally different than 99-02. I can verify it with Mitchell Prodemand, but I believe you may need to do a whole lot of repinning or rewiring for many different components. You may ask why that matters, well the fuel level sensor goes through the PCM and then out to the dash.

If you did all the repinning correctly, I believe you need to do a fuel segment swap from a van to get it working.

Looked at your tune ... appears that it has had a Fuel System segment swap, as the PWM output is enabled and the Hz output is no longer set to zero.

It has been a very long time since I did one of these, but I think part of your issue is wiring related. The Fuel Sender (in tank) will likely have 2 connections to the PCM. A ground (or low reference) will go to C1 (Blue) pin 23. The 5 volt signal will go to C2 (Red) pin 54.

The output from the PCM, to the Fuel Gauge, is C2 (Red) pin 38.

I recall the Fuel Gauge initially reading backward - requiring one of the calibration tables to be inverted (can't recall which one).

I never had to change the wiring after swapping over to the 0411. Have to do a segment swap and mess with the sender range in hptuners. Also make sure that the pin isn't pushing out when you put the connector on the pcm. I had that happen already.

My numbers in hp tuners is:

    Capacity 15.5gal
    Primary cap 15.5gal
    Sender max 150
    sender min 20
    Gauge output PWN 11.09, 31.27, 44.88, 55.94, 65.72, 74.86, 84.04, 93.77, 104.88, 119, 136.58
    Gauge uses PWM enabled
    PWM gauge freq 0.00hz

It sweeps and E means E so if your on E best be in a gas station lol

ya just looked at your file you have the right fuel system but as you guessed numbers all wrong. Put in the ones I post that should get you there or close. Works on mine with a 98 fuel sender and gauge

Would your numbers work correctly with my 19 gallon tank? and did you change anything in the volume tabs?
