    Histograms

Can't find much info on them other than if your not using them you should be type things. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, but any way...

What are Histograms and how do I use them/set them up?

    Thanks!

The term Histograms is from the pre version 3.0 release. In Version 3.0 they are now called Graphs which actually better describes what they are. They are simply a means for reporting the logged data against various engine and transmission parameters. An example would be if you logged MAF Airflow, it really doesn't do you any good as far as tuning unless you can see it related to the Editor table format. In the Editor, the MAF Airflow is referenced to the Frequency (Hz) that the MAF sensor is outputting so the logical thing to do would be to report say MAF airflow error data we have collected referenced to the same Hz breakpoints so we can correct the MAF Airflow tune contents.

So the Histogram, or now Graph, is a configuration filke you develop which will contain the data you want to log, the graph you want to see it displayed in which can be either a single axis format or a 2 axis X Y format. An example of an X Y formatted Graph would be Spark which needs to be displayed against RPM and Cylinder charge to match up with the Edtor format,

Additionally the Graph will also provide a function to define a filter for "correcting" the raw logged data to a specific area orr scenario you are looking for. An example of that would be the ability to filter out unwanted data generated during acceleration and deceleration when logging airflow error. This data would contaminate or skew your results and wouldn't get a true airflow model developed which needs to be steady state, calm data.

Open you scanner and click Help at the top of the command line and there is a great description of these.

    Hope this helps
