    AFR500 vs AFX Powerdex?

This sucks, I was out tuning and accidentally burned the connectors were the wideband sensor and harness connect with my AFX powerdex/NTK unit. They melted together. So now I m basically gonna have to order a new wideband sensor and harness/connector.

The new harness is $64 and sensor $93= $157.

Well I see the new AFR500 kit is $279.

I was just wondering if the new AFR500 is worth it or an upgrade(better resolution or more features)?

Or should I just keep my AFX unit and just replace the harness and sensor?

Bottom line is the AFR500 is the same as the AFX but branded for Ballenger.

This^^^^. I ended up just getting a new harness and kept my AFX box. I had another sensor that was still under warranty and I swapped it out.

AFR500 / AFX are identical. We stock all the parts like harness, connectors, bungs, control unit, etc for anyone who burns up anything on their AFX. Since they are the same, all parts cross.

Here is the product page with the listing for all the AFR500 / AFX parts in case anyone needs them:

In other news, we are releasing the AFR500v2! We listened to our customer requests and provided just the additional features customers asked for.

Summary of Changes for the v2:
    Lambda Display Option
    Wide Range Option
    (0.41-1.37 Lambda)
    (6-20 Gas AFR)
    (2.66-8.88 Methanol AFR)
    Increased display speed
    Bosch LSU 4.9 Option
    Methanol Display Option
    Faster analog output
All harnesses, control units, accessories, etc (except the LSU 4.9) are backwards and forwards compatible
Options are selectable at any time via internal jumpers
NTK Calibration grade sensor highly recommended for low AFR methanol applications

Since it comes up in this forum periodically, yes this is still the much loved ECM box. We worked with ECM extensively to make this new unit available and meet the needs of our customer base.
