Cool Copperhead Linear interpolation between data points?

I searched here and Google and believe the ECU interpolates between parameter values. Can someone confirm?

For example, below are some intake cam parameters along with the XREF.
My question is, does the ECU interpolate the IVO events linearly between the -40@4000 and the -20@5500?

    stock Intake Valve
    XREF IVO
    1000 -30
    1250 -30
    1500 -30
    1750 -40
    2000 -40
    2750 -40
    3000 -40
    4000
    -40
    5500 -20
    6000 -16
    6500 -14

Yes. 4750= -30. 4375=-35. 5125=-25. So on so forth. Look at a table that allows 3d view and you will see the linear interpolation the ecu sees.

Thank you! I'm comparing two different cam timing maps and they have different RPM breakpoints. I want to plot both on the same graph in excel.

Yes. Setting more than two rpm points the same is just a waste of the limited resolution we have to work with.

can always change the axis though right? don't really need a 1000 RPM cell for OP do we?

Sure that's another way to save resolution. What you can not change is the number of boxes the x or y axis has.

Picked up another tidbit there, didn't know the number of points on the XREF had to stay the same. Anyway, I see how it all works (with this particular topic) and can go crazy with my spreadsheet now : )
