Fail to write, then takes forever to take the tune

I was wondering if anyone has figured out what causes the failed uploads when programming?
I think its how cold it is lol really... I noticed w 2 cars i tried to tune when it wass 42 degrees out, both fail to complete the write. After i got the one to take i lowered the update speed of the ambient temperature to 0 then let it sit until it was 34 degrees out, it failed halfway through the write again. I then had someone hold a heat gun about 2ft from the ambient temperature sensor in the front bumper, once it read over 50 degrees it would complete the write. I tried it w the 2010 mustang w spanish oak and it worked when the ambient temperature was over 50 also. So i am starting to believe that when its really cold out the spanish oaks and copperheads will not write the tune.
Anyone else have any similar problems and can relate it to temps?
