    HELP! E40 GTO will not go into commanded Speed Density mode!!!

    Supercharged GTO.
    In speed density mode the car will not start.
    I have been successful in tuning the car in MAF only but for some reason even tho the MAF is set to fail it doesnt. No check engine light confirmation and AIR Calc on my scanner confirms it is not running speed density. Will post tunes and logs in
    which I attempt to force the car in speed density ASAP.

    In the past I have had the same issue with this car but reversed meaning the car would only run on speed density and couldnt be run with the MAF. This was before the supercharger install. The tune is set in open loop

    Disconnecting the MAF whilest the car is commanded to run VE only has not worked.

    Set DTC P0101-0103 to Mil on first error and check ses (want to see CEL on failover). MAF Frequency Fail high to 1. What is the MAF table set to? Remove MAF Airflow from scanner and log Dynamic Airflow.

    Post tune and logs then..need tose what VE table looks/run likes.

    Done everything as you posted as is the proper way to confirm I am in speed density but the car turns over and the injectors shut down going to 0%duty cycle immediately after start up. Will post logs and tunes ASAP

    on my gto this is how i have mine set to run speed density as I dont run a maf at all.
    engine diagnostics- maf high 0
    maf lo 0

    dtc p0101, p0102, p0103 all set to mil on first error I have mine unchecked so no light but you can check it if you want.

    airflow>dynamic both high rpm disable and re enable are set to 8192.

    You can log air calc mode to see how it's calculating airflow by the way, that makes it easy to tell.

    I have always done all that but for some reason it just wont revert to SD. Map is good the car just run in. Even tho everything in the tune is commanding it to run speed density the car will not revert to SD.

    So with the tune commanding SD and the MAF disconnected it wont start. The car just wont run on SD

    Set MAF table to 15 g/sec and see if car starts. Some times you need to "help" the failover and give it a bit more time...

    I've had problems with this while trying to tune E67 ECM's... Due to the engine being cold? Had to revert back to MAF or combined setup, allow to reach operating temp then kill the MAF in the tune and make sure to zero out the MAF curve completely... Only way I can get them in for what ever weird reasons? Then you might want to make sure your air numbers are high enough - if not overly high in the VE table, so it will maintain running....
