I don't know if I'd pull from the ODB2 port. I would suggest a switch letting you warm the car (and thus the o2 sensor) up prior to turning it on since I'm sure most of the pull is during heating the sensor but I think I read somewhere that is a big no no and will destroy the sensor.

Seems the C5's and C6's have a separate fuse for the 12v in the dash and the 12v in the center console, so could be easy to rob the power from one or the other (whichever you don't use to charge your phone):

    http://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/c...inop-fuse.html

That's likely the route I'll go...

    (Sorry that got Corvette specific)

Just got mine, I like that everything but the power connection is pre-wired/terminated in plugs. Screw the sensor in, plug everything in with 12v power and off you go. Still need to find a spot for the gauge.

Remember if it's a pre-CAN vehicle you have to add resistors to CAN wires

We've received a few support tickets from VPW customers.

I don't believe the AEM WB CAN OBD device is working on VPW vehicles currently, even with the resistor. It's a unique scenario as having two OBD supported busses is in violation, so we haven't spent a lot of time making that work yet.

Well, that officially sucks if it won't work on a 2005 corvette. I don't know what VPW is but I'm assuming it's some sort of obd protocol?

No doubt, that's super annoying. Best explanation I found: http://www.obdtester.com/obd2_protocols

Pretty sure the E40 (2005 Vette) is a CAN ECU. An Info Log will tell for sure.

Connected it to a power supply earlier. During normal operation it pulls about 0.8 amps. During warm up it's about double that. So the 3 amps number was probably a little higher than it'll ever actually use.. but figured I'd post my findings.

I would be one of those customers. It will not work on my 00 TA. With the resistor, the AEM WB is all the scanner sees. All the pids from the pcm are grayed out. I guess I will have to use the analog signals. I hope they are able to get this working.

Has this ever worked on non canbus vehicles, because I thought they had it working at one time? I tried an older version of 3.0 last night, still didn't work.

I thought it was working on older vehicles too, at least at one point.

Nice I think that provides ample (pun intended) options for power connection withing tracing a dedicated line back to the battery.

Yeah, I think I'm going to connect mine to a 12V cigarette adapter plug at first and see how that does. Will make it super easy to install for tuning other peoples cars. Just install O2 sensor, plug into OBD, plug into 12V lighter and you're good to go

My customer is using it on a '12 CTS-V and anytime he starts the scanner the WB Channel disappears from the list and doesn't populate data. Sort of in a bind because he's using the standard cable with no way to log WB data in other than this CAN system. So we are basically stuck until this is figured out. He is using 3.0.128 since it still has the channel available to even add to the channel list. 3.2.11 doesn't even have the channel listed to add to the channel list.

I assume he's pointing out that you're "good to go" as long as the car is CAN BUS compatible and not VPW, which is true, yes.
