I asked about that a while ago, sounds like a total revamp is in the works.

When saving a layout it seems to save Charts, Graphs, and Gauges in that file, but Channels and Math Parameters have to be saved separately. Is there a way to save everything in one file, to make sharing between computers, and people easier?

    No

Saving Channels saves what you're logging, Saving Layouts saves everything else (except math parameters)

I do wish there was a way to at least "save all" on math parameters, but there isn't right now

Try re-downloading it - maybe you got a bad download or something...

At least you can save them, way better than 2.24 PIDs in that respect.

    True, true...

And with some common ones built in, i.e. boost, lambda error, etc. that helps too

What does filter do in the chart and gauge setup? I can't find anything that mentions it.

Filter averages the reading over however ms you put in there. It's useful for smoothing out jumpy inputs, external inputs in particular since they are recorded at such high rates now.

There are some changes coming that will smooth external inputs out a bit without having to use filter

Filter only works during live logging, so messing with it on old logs won't really do anything

Still seeing "blue screen" crashes Running W7 Machine, anytime the Scanner is left open (Not scanning) and it goes into or put into sleep mod It blue screen crashes.
If memory server me the error message for the crash dump is "PRN_LIST_CORRUPT".
updated to last nights build and still the same.....

On mine if the laptop goes to sleep with Scanner open, next time I open it back up and start scanning the "Chart vs. time" view stays blank. Closing/reopening it fixes it

Edit: I got it. I pulled the PCM and was able to flash it fine on my benchtop harness. I diagnosed the problem to be somewhere between the PCM and the OBD port. Tuning with the new software was actually pretty enjoyable. I only wish I could create tables in the scanner to match the tables in the tune automatically but otherwise it was all fast and easy to set up.
If the vehicle has had an aftermarket security system/remote start installed look around the ODB port wiring. They will tap into the ODB harness for power sometimes. I have seen some bad stuff along these lines.

The generic sensor for averages STFT does not work correctly, I had to create my own math parameter to average bank 1 and 2.

Post your log and layout that isn't working (using the generic sensor for fuel trim averages)

Nevermind, I had units set to number rather than percent. Lots of new features that are throwing me off base.

Keith, do you have an ETA for a scanner version that includes the DoD status bits?

    In Scanner 3.0.57

If I click in the Channels window then click inside of a Chart, scrolling up and down with the mouse center button still controls (scrolls up and down) the channel window and does not zoom in and out on the chart like it should. If I click on the "chart vs. time" tab up at the top, then scrolling with the mouse will zoom in and out

Not sure if this is just my computer or a small bug?
