I just put a cam in my l98 224 232 5.80 5.90 114lsa tuned it and it's running well but when I decel it seems to self cruise, is it just a case of that's how much air it needs or is there a cure.

I'd try reducing final minimum air table in the idle tab. You can make a large change just to see if that's the problem or not (like, cut it in half)

dialled back 2-6 gear minimum airflow table and left 1st gear setting and all is good now.
