    How do you fix it?

You could always use google to search this site.

All I know is the search function looks and acts totally different to any other VBulletin forum I'm on.

I agree that the search function isnt very good.

Both this forum and the grandprixforum I am on are kinda the same. It seems that you must get the exact words right in the search to even bring up what you are trying to look for. I can't think of an example off hand, but 90% of the time it will bring up non related searches and they are only there because someone in some random post used a word that you have in the search bar, so it picks it up. Or it brings up a few recent threads and then goes straight to threads from 2008 or something and none of the software from back then can even help with the issue.

Having to use google or bing to then search the forum with it is just another step that some wish was not needed. I kinda wish the forums search bar would the work.

I have no idea how these vbulletin forums work but I've just noticed they arent good for searches.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

I get zero hits for searching 'IAT'. Combinations of checkbox
options seems not to matter. Neither does regular box vs
"advanced search". That can't be right, I know that somebody
has mentioned that sensor at least once in some subforum
    or other. ;p

I also have had this problem, but it is on every forum that I am a member of.

I just use google and add HPtuners in the search first. Has a much better result
