    Understanding transmission shift time settings

I'm kinda curious how the transmission shift time settings work. I mean why wouldn't the transmission ALWAYS shift gears as fast as possible? Why would they purposely slow the shifts down if they could occur faster? Or do these settings really just affect how the torque management works (lower times = faster torque removal and restoration)?

    Thanks!

The slower the shift the better in most cases, most customers and car makers don't want you to feel the "snap" of the shift or the lurch that they can give when the shifts are really quick and firm.

The less wear on the parts, the longer the transmission should last aswell.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

I think it's just the amount of time torque management stays on for the shift. More psi will make the actual shift speed faster.
