So with the three bar settings the MAP sensor 2bar PID shows 0kpa, and with the stock settings and sensor in same 0kpa.

Try reloading the 2 bar MAP PID to the table and Chart Displays. Make sure the SAE MAP PID is deleted from the Table display as well.????

Okay, deleted all map pid's from table and chart, saved config file, reopened it added 2bar map to table and chart and reads 0kpa with the stock sensor and values.

Oh the new MAP sensor has 5V printed on it, so it should work.

Okay so I may not be the most patient person but here is what I am trying in the mean time. Loaded a 3bar OS that I made adjustments to in hopes of accomplishing something. Still showing very lean, like no reading at all.

So after all the permutations you went through with 3 bar sensor and stock sensors, the consensus I think is that the custom OS's multi bar MAP PID's do not display map data in the KOEO mode like their OEM counterparts.....agggggggh. I just didn't know that or even consider that, sorry.

The final test, and I don't believe we tried this, is to load the 2 bar OS with the 3 bar sensor and 3 bar data and check with the engine running and see if you have like 50 kPa at idle.

Again, if this is true, then I am sorry to lead you down this dead end.

Not your fault, at least we all know now that it will not show up like this, can only laugh about it now.

Can we use the three bar OS or was the two bar better for some reason?

It really depends on how much boost you intend on generating....the 2 Bar will take you to like 15 lbs and the 3 bar beyond that (max's at like 30 lbs IIRC). There is a bit more granularity in the 2 BAR VE MAP axis.

Have you done any work to the internals of the 5.3.....pistons, rings (end gap) etc.

No, we have a second 5.3 that will have forged rotating, but keeping roughly the stock dimensions. We planned for this motor to run around 25-26lbs and I think that is where I screwed up with the sensor. It was bought as a 3bar but I missed the OS to 3bar in the panic of trying to get this truck together and it having sat for about three months untouched. So we will keep the 3 bar OS and work with it.

OK sounds good. Let us know if when you go 3 bar and with the 3 bar map sensor data what the logs say.

I have read that you need to watch the ring end gap (.035+) to guard against heat expansion and binding, especially at those boost levels....broken ring land is not far behind :-)

3bar OS is loaded with the settings (VE and such) copied from 2bar. Shows 0kpa KOEO, bump the starter and it shows 72-73kpa. Truck will not start. Tell me if I missed something.

OOps, I had the caps on the turbos. Funny thing these motors need air to run. Fired right up.

You should be rich as balls.....I was going to suggest putting back the VE table from the TRY.HPT file and pull another 5% out.
