    E38 L98 6L80E R33 Skyline Vehicle Speed

Hoping someone here can help me out,
I have converted an L98 and 6L80E into an R33 Skyline,
Everything is running well apart from 2 issues.

1: I have no Vehicle speed in the scanner, I can check with snap on scan tool and read a vehicle speed in the transmission but not the ecu side.
It has a bcm, pcm and tcm from 09 model vehicle. I read on the efilive forum that some os's may work and some may not. It also states that around the same time the vehicle speed is sent via can to the abs not the ecu. If this is the case can I
A: wire PIN 15 in the 6L80E to PIN 71 in the ecu connector and configure settings to receive the vehicle speed?
B: write a compatible os over my existing os that will work?

2: I have a 12v 1400cfm fan which is not pwm, does anyone know how I can make it switch on with the required temperature settings in fans or what settings will work?

    OS 12633016 ECU
    OS 24249179 TCM

Actually just stumbled across the Fan writeup, so I now have that sorted

I'm using the same OS's and I never had any problems with the VSS.

I have attached one of my old tune so you can compare the settings.

    sPeeDau,
Thanks mate, pretty certain I have tried these settings, has me wondering if there aren't different
pinouts but nothing I have found suggests it.

btw, what vehicle do you have that running in?

From what I understand the speed would be sent over the GMLan from the TCM to E38. Your car obviously runs and drives so the GMLan link between the TCM & E38 is ok.

You shouldn't need any extra wires.

I never had any problem so I don't really have much to suggest.

Maybe check that on the Speedo - Limiter Tab you have that set to "GMLan" so its requesting the speed from the trans.

Is the tune you loaded on the E38 for a AUTO?

What vehicle did your engine/trans harness come from?

What vehicle is your E38 out of?

    I put a LS3/6L80e in a 1977 C3 Corvette

I patched around it for now anyway, I wired pin 15 from the trans to pin 71 in the ecu and configured it. Needed a couple adjustments and now perfect.

I will however check GMLan in the morning. That may be an overlooked setting.

    Thank you for your advise....

What were your settings in the end? Can you post your file?

We're trying to do the same thing using an LS2 E38 OS 1250210/6L80E OS 24239353 from a Nov/2006 HSV (G8) installed into a 1977 GMH vehicle using ECM/TCM only.
Harness has VSS output wired from ECM connector J1 pin 57 (wire has
    continuity) to electronic speedo.

Issue is we have no VSS to the speedo, no vehicle speed (SAE) on CAN
although we can see trans input & output shaft speeds using VCM Suite
    (version 3 & version 3 beta)

Vehicle runs well although trans isn't perfect due to lack of VSS.

    Any help would be appreciated.
