    02 LQ4 Silverado 1500hd 6.0l help with tune

I have tuned VE tables and MAF but spark tables aren't right, from what I have read they like alot of timing. I have it setup like this but seems like its too much when driving not getting any knock through 5k rpm, however on freeway cruising at 70mph rpms are around 2500 when used to be 1800 it feels like it needs to calm down for cruising atleast or is this just the way it is if i want the power when hit the throttle? Please any advice would be much appreciated.

timing won't affect the speed vs. RPM ratio. Speed and RPM is directly based off of tire size, gear ratios and transmission gearing. A timing change would do something like this for you....."cruising down the highway @ 70 mph and 2300 rpm's used to net me about 16 mpg, but i'm now getting 18mpg." That would be a more realistic change from timing.

Just an update from my timing adjustments been doing a lot of logging and tuning lately and yes tire size and gears make a big difference in this although with a heavier vehicle and this cam spark was way too low and was stuggling to keep my truck at 75 so was around 2400 rpm. After advancing timing without any knock I am cruising on freeway at 75mph at 1800rpm. So if anyone has this issue with a big cam.

Sounds like you finally increased the power enough to lower your tps and finally shift into 4th.
