    Newbie, '08 5.3 ALL stock.

    tiffs DoD OFF_Tire size.hpt

Brand new into the EFI tuning world. Not new into tuning carb?d motors.
I have a 2008 DoD, non flex fuel silverado, small lift, bigger tires, and want to learn HP tuners.
Looking for info on where to start, what to research, and what is the proper instructions for reducing TQ mngmt, adding/removing timing etc.
Seems there are 10 different ways to arrive at the same end point, I?d like to learn why.

    Thanks for any info

Search the Forum, read the stickies, search through Google, demo files that HPTuners offers, to learn alot about EFIsystems and tuning, buy Greg Banishs' books and DVT's, attend structured classes or follow links below to interactive on-line training.

There is so much to learn and will take some effort on your part to learn and be able to ask specific questions other than "where do I start" Besides learning the tuning strategies and processes, you need to have a good handle on how to use the VCM Editor and Scanner software. It isn't easy but the Forum and individual mentoring I believe is the fastest way to success.

Will look at your log now and you should post up a copy of your tune as well.

    Log evaluation....

Your Bank 2 O2 sensor is inop (stuck at>750 mv) and as you didn't log any Bank 2 trims, can't tell if they are messed up as well. Add to you Table display and chart for next log. You have alot of knock, and again can't tell without the new log.

Also please add Commanded AFR Hi res to your table display so we can see the commanded AFR as knock seems to be in the Power Enrichment area's so we need to see if PE is right. WSOuld be careful until we determine if the knock is real or not.

    Again need the tune file.
