Thread: Relearn Problem

    Relearn Problem

I got the code p1336 crankshaft position not learned.

I followed the directions in VCM meaning hold the brake down, start the car and more, but when I go to the case learn screen in VCM scanner controls, it says "not ready" under Case learn.

What could we be doing wrong?

Sorry but I always start with the simple......

    1) Clear the code

2)CASE Learn: To use the CASE learn function please follow these steps:
    1. Ensure the engine is at normal operating temperature (ECT > ~65C).
    2. Put the vehicle into park (auto) or neutral (manual).
    3. Turn off all accessories and A/C.
    4. Turn the vehicle off.
    5. Apply the parking brake.
    6. Press the brake pedal. Keep the brake pedal depressed during the entire procedure. REQUIRED for successful test completion
    7. Start the vehicle and let it idle.
    8. Press Begin.
    9. Gradually rev the vehicle to fuel cutoff (around 4000-5000 RPM's) over a period of about 4 seconds. When fuel cuts out, immediately release the throttle.
    10. Allow the engine to come back to an idle.
    11. Turn the ignition off for at least 15 seconds. This step is required for the VCM to store the newly learned configuration.

Mowton, these are the instructions I tried to follow. The problem is where you normally see the "begin" button highlighted to be able to press it, you cannot press the begin button and it says not ready under it.

When you hold the brake down and start the car and let it idle, it still says, not ready. In the fieds for ect, speed, etc. nothing is populating. Normally that stuff will work. Do I need to click on control IAT? I never had this problem before. Weird.

I don't know....does any of the VCM controls work? or not work? How about the cylinder balance?

With key on it should populate the tables when you connect...
