I would like to know what steps to take to remove the knock in a Chevy Silverado 2006. They said they placed the retard in zero but not how to do it..

Why in the world would you want to remove them?
I wouldn't recommend doing this, but if you go in the knock tables you can adjust the timing pulled out there.
Really you should resolve any knock issues and leave them active for protection.
