Need flex fuel tune for OS 12593058 - P59

    Hello,

I recently installed a flex fuel sensor in my car and cannot get it to register alcohol content. It just shows 0% and I'm running on E85. I thought it might be because I had a 2 bar SD tune on it, but just flashed back to the completely stock tune w/flex fuel enabled and it still shows 0%. I can only assume I need a flex fuel tune to swap the engine segment over on.

I installed the flex fuel sensor, triple checked the wiring and confirmed 12v and ground to the sensor are good. In HP Tuners I enabled flex fuel, changed the default percentage to 38%, enabled P0178 / P0179 and changed the stoich to reflect that of a flex fuel tune.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate the help.

What year is the engine? 2006 and beyond don't require a flex fuel sensor.

Not sure on flexfuel sensors but, most sensors for the motor use a 5 volt signal..... Are you sure it is supposed to have 12 volts?

Correct, my 07 classic did not have a sensor.

This is a 6.0 / 4l80e from an 03 2500HD that's in my 67 Camaro. Those years would have had an actual sensor. From what I've read online, 12v goes to this sensor. I know most sensors work from a 5v signal but these are apparently different.

This is a turbocharged car that's running on E85. I need an actual sensor so I can run straight 91, E85 or a mixture of the two.

Post #3 on the link below explains how to wire them:
