need help with finding the correct ecu pinout. Help (injector -) 1998 fbody

    Hi guys

not sure where i can put this so I figured this maybe the best place?

looking to tap into the following signal.

    IGNITION SW. (INJECTOR +)
    FUEL INJECTOR (-)
    MAP SENSOR (0-5V)

Looking at 1998 fbody pcm pinout
    http://www.ls2.com/boggs/torques/98pinpcm.htm

    The map signal looks like
    BLUE connector (pin 48)

However Im confused on what i can use for
    IGNITION SW. (INJECTOR +)
    FUEL INJECTOR (-)

Do I just use any injectors for (injector +)? example on red connector #33

and use PCM ground(red connector pin 76) for the injector -?

All of the fuel injectors have positive power when your key is in the run position. The pcm switches the negative to provide the injector pulse. I've attached a link that shows how a 1999 vortec 5.7's injectors are wired. I believe the LS1 would be similar except for the pin numbers. If you used connector #33, that would be a negative injector wire.

I'm just about ready to turn the key on my 5.3 LM7 swap in an 83 Camaro and LT1swap.com has a ton of helpful info on wiring.

    Hope this helps.

I would think that you could use any wire that is turned on when the key is in the run position. On your pcm, these wires would be pink. Blue connector pin 19 would work.

thanks for the help. i went ahead and tired those. but ive had some issues.
the car runs like crap connected to those pinout like its somehow affecting the tune.
if i rev it it also idle for a sec then dies.

when i disconnected the unit it runs fine again.

any is there a different pinout you think i should connect to?

Perhaps the positive on pin 19 is messing you up. A sure fire way to get a good signal from your injector is to pull apart the connector from one injector and with your key in the run position measure the voltage to ground of each pin. Make sure you measure the voltage with your meter leads connected correctly. Red lead to positive and black to common, or negative. The pin that reads plus twelve volts to ground is your injector positive signal, and the other pin is your injector negative.
