    Possible Comm Problems?

I am building a Gen 3 LS PCM to Mazda Can-BUS conversion board and I have a couple questions regarding VPW.

My plan is to use the VPW network to send OBD2 requests (RPM, Temp, Etc) and receive them, then convert and transmit over the Can-BUS.

Is there any problems having a hard wired device that uses the off board device addressing ($68, $6A, $F1) full time on the VPW bus?

Would this interfere with other scan tools or with HPTuners programming the PCM?

Should I be using a different address for this application?

    Thanks
    Dave

There is no issue with having it hard wired, however it will interfere with other scan tools, and will also interfere with reprogramming.

If you use a different address and respect the protocol, that might work, like $F3. You need to repsect the disable comms messages and not broadcast during programming, etc..

So when HPTuners wants to reprogram, it sends the disable comms message?
    What address does HPTuners use?
Can you post what the full disable comms message would look like?
