    Built 4l60e won't stay in manual 1st

I've got a fresh 4l60e that refuses to stay in manual 1st. I've got an FTL 3200 stall and getting on the stall it will shift 2nd and come out in 2nd. If I keep the stall low it'll roll out in 1st and then shift 2nd and bog. Is there any adjustments I can do to make this thing stay in 1st? I've tried searching and found a few threads but none had a posted fix. The cars a 99 trans am.

Sounds to me like your cable is too short and you're not really in 1st. It's not going to pop into 2nd when it's physically in 1st; unless I'm missing something.

Dont know what year os your using but some 4l60 calibrations work just like 4l80's do. Unless it is a mechanical problem with the shifter, your problem lies in the either the d1 or d1 urban tables.

I agree with Bluecat, make sure your D1 urban 1-2 shift mph is maxed out or it will shift to second under some tps areas.
