Any one had this msg (security access denied- exceeded number of attempts) when trying to read a ls1 pcm, I know it has been tuned by efi live before so im not sure if that's the problem iv never had this problem before. Any help would be great thanks.

I spoke to the last guy that tuned it and he said he didn't lock it.
wait 15 seconds before you start the read/write process.

ok I normally wait 10 seconds but I will give 15 ago.
sounds like its tunerlocked to me.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I just bought a c6, and the pcm was fried.
paid dealer to supply install pcm. reman.
that was 2 wks ago. tonight I tried to pull the stock tune and I got the same msg.
exactly. can the dealer lock me out?
on the read attempt, it briefly says that invalid security key or something similar.
before I took the car in, I had read the pcm and licensed it , to add to the wound.
if anyone can direct me to a workaround. that would be awesome.

I am still getting the same msg when using hp tuners but can get in with efi live so I don't know what the deal is.
Will , i'm in AUS and in approx. 10days etc, I will be offering/able to unlock pcm's, but I know it doesn't help at the moment but it does sound like to me it's tuned with efi live, if tuned with EFI Live ,can;'t read it/modify it with hp tuners....Cheers Bret
