    Help me run a flex fuel setup on a C5Z06 n/a 427

I think I need a P59 ECU, but is this even possible? I'm getting a lot of mixed answers. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

But there are no files you can get from the manufacturer... most files will not crank or will not start the car.

The only P01 OS that I know of that can support flex fuel is from a 2002 SUV, 12216125, but as mentioned above, I don't know if this OS will start the car or have everything else in it work properly.

The 2004 C5 had a P59, flex fuel tables are present there, but it's not enabled...that's probably your best bet to enable it, but I believe we're still missing some of the necessary tables to get the PCM to add spark properly when the alcohol sensor see's alcohol in the fuel...if you can write entire with another vehicle file that was factory flex fuel, this isn't a problem, but it still would take you away from a C5 file and go to a truck file...may still work, I'm not sure.

The p59 controller is the answer. There is at least 1 fully functional flex OS's for it, and it has boosted support. There are also 4l80e deferments for the same OS. Also cable and dbw support depending on the ecm itself.

I'm currently trying to track down wiring diagrams to see if I can get one to run the gauges in a 4th gen fbody.

I''m guessing you mean the 2005 OS, 12592618...came in the Avalanche with flex fuel and 2500HD with the 4L80E.

The gauges should just need to connect the serial data line.

Anybody get around to making this work in a c5 and retain the DBW? Im about to swap a p59 pcm into mine soon to try to make flex fuel work but honestly i have no idea what im really doing haha

Yes. Super easy. It even measures fuel temperature out of the sensor

Did you just swap to a p59? The guys on corvette forum make it seem like it's more than that.

Yes I've done it and retained the DBW throttle body. If I remember I used a SUV OS, did a segment swap and since the suv OS only has one output for fan control I wired second fan with a relay to the one output.

Do you know what OS the p59 vette uses? I have a 05 Avalanche file that is OS 12592618 that is flex fuel and 2 fans.

    Nevermind, Vette OS is 12587603

04 Tahoe with flex fuel is OS 12587603 . It has the option for 2 fans that should work with the stock c5 fans.

is the suv os compatible with the factory c5 tac module and throttle body? i know in the trucks you have to use a x link to use a ls2 throttle body

I think you can just use the segment swap for the fuel side to use the flex but some people have said that there are hidden parameters that wont let that work and results in a no start in the c5.

I have not tried the swapping the full OS. I have an 01 so I would have to do a rewire for the p59 then try the two above.

I have a p59 out of a 04 tahoe. I plugged it in the car today and read the file and it is already a flex fuel enabled pcm. What else are you saying i need to segment swap to make it work? I havnt had a chance to make the changes from my c5 pcm over to the p59 and load it to see if it will start. I will try to get to that tomorrow after work.

I see that a 2004 z06 uses the same OS so would it be better to segment swap all the 04 z06 segments over to my 04 tahoe pcm except the fuel segment? Now that i look at the segments the only segment IDs that are different are the fuel segments.

I also have a question about the platform type and system options. Should i leave that GMT800 or change it to GMT530 like the original c5 pcm or Y like the 04 z06?

I would try swapping the fuel segment to the z06 0S first and if that doesnt work try using the Tahoe OS.
