So I've been digging around, trying to figure out if I can change the gas pedal for my engine swap. I've got an L76 out of an 09 Pontiac G8 GT, and we've swapped to a manual transmission as well. I have the stock G8 pedal, but there's no way to mount/modify the way I need, since its an all plastic pedal. I'd love to use a Vette, Envoy, Monte Carlo pedal, easier to reshape and mount. But they have different 6 pin plugs. The wires are all the same, I'm just wondering if this is going to drive me into needing to do an OS swap on my E38 ecm, which I've read can be a bit iffy and a good way to brick an ECM. Or is it safe to just swap to a Vette OS?

Speaking of swapping OS's, what does that entail? Just using a different base cal file for a write entire?

Thanks in advance, new to all of this.
