Delete Staging video but keep Segment?

I just recently realized that the time spent Staging is recording the whole time and saved in the session.

I have some sessions where that is a long time and takes up a lot of space.

Is there any way to delete the video for the staging but keep the segment video?

There's not a way to delete just part of a video, only the option to remove the entire video (thereby leaving only the data remaining)... It's basically all or nothing. The video is recorded as one continuous file so that there are no gaps or other time distortions between staging and the actual run. Same goes for Circuit sessions with multiple laps.

The best thing you could do is to minimize the staging video by pressing the record button just before you get onto the track, or cross the start. Isn't there a setting to start the recording near the starting line of a track? Other data recorders had a setting for the minimum speed for video recording to start, like 15 MPH.

In Circuit mode, there is 10 MPH trigger to start recording, as you described. But in Segment and Drag modes, such a trigger is definitely not suitable for the majority of use-cases, so we instead look for the vehicle to come to a stop as an indication that you are staged and will be released imminently. The only problem in that case is that it would record extra video if you are not released right away... if you know that's going to happen, you can wait to enter the Record screen until you want it to start recording.
