    2006 Silverado OS options

Ive searched and searched. I have a 2006 Silverado and want to run a 3 bar OS. The box is grey and I can't choose 3 bar. Support told me that the 2006 computer doesn't have enough room to support 3 bar. So what are my options?

The pcms are the same from 2003 to early 2007, 2003-05 have 3 bar, so pcm is capable. You MAY be able to switch to a 2005 o/s but you will have to research to see what the differences are BEFORE you license and flash any other file in.

The only 2006 P59 OS that supports 3bar is the 12587811 OS that I know of...

It's not the PCM it's the OS which can't support the 3 BAR. I have converted several PCMs to 3 BAR but I had to flash a different year OS. If the VIN mismatch is not a concern you can flash any 2003-07 OS with 3 Bar support and it will work fine.
All P59 PCMs and files are 100% interchangeable, I have tried many times and it always works. Unfortunately it's always a tradeoff

What type transmission do you need the OS for? I have some 2006 files that are capable of 3bar with the OS I mentioned above.

I actually am running into this as well. I have a 2006 Silverado to tune (4L60-E for now)...going to start with 2-bar, but it'd be nice to be able to go to 3-bar.

If I e-mail you the guys VIN number, can you send me a base file back?

No issues with the rest of the computers in the 2006 truck talking if I change the OS...or even if I change to a 2005 OS?
