Opinions wanted on AFR settings (12psi /Meth coming in at 4psi)

Okay, in an attempt to be on the safe side and reduce knock, here is what I came up with. I still think I could go a bit leaner, but I'm looking for opinions on this.

Keep in mind i'm running 12psi and an Alky kit. Hence, the reason for a sloped AFR.

    0-2000 - 11.75 AFR
    3000-4750 - 11.51 AFR
    5350-8000 - 11.30 AFR

And this is BASE afr, not accounting for the difference of the meth.

I smoothed the transitions throughout the missing RPM values. I'm seeing through my WB the methanol having anywhere from .5 to sometimes 1 full point afr to the rich side. Usually between .5 and .75 when meth spraying.

    Any thoughts?

every car is different. tune it at 11.5 across the board and then experiment on the dyno to see what makes more power where.

Just curious as to what others are running with a similar setup. Eventually it may go back on a dyno, unless track days show some good results.

Tough to comment because its the final number, after the meth that really counts. If your 11.30 is becoming 10.30 then it is too rich.

I'm guessing that's with the methanol? Is that straight across the board?
I like to be somewhat in the "safe zone" in case of meth failure.

That is with the meth. As far as safety, that is a call you have to make. If mine failed, it would pull some timing quickly, and I feel no damage would be done at 12.0 AFR for a few seconds.

Like I said, I went a bit safer with my current setup. First it makes more boost and power, and second I don't need every last hp out of it. The PE is set at 1 number across the board. I have the BE a little richer just for the last few lbs of boost, which I will rarely if ever see. I am running at 11.5 PE.. which drops to 10.8 with the meth. 11.5 wont hurt anything if meth stops.

The BE is nice to have. I'm still on a stock OS. Thanks for the info. Eventually I will find where the car wants to be..

Upgrade to the 2 bar OS.... it has many enhancements for a boosted car. It is now free so there is no reason not to do so.

And, you can still run the 2bar os in maf only or blended modes.

I had read that but I'm new to HPT and wanted to learn a few things before venturing to a custom os. How would I configure the 2 bar os to run like the stock os (blended) ?

There are instructions floating around here somewhere that detail enabling/saving/setting up the custom os.

It will feature a blank VE table. Use bluecat software to create a suitable VE table from your latest non custom os file. Copy the generated VE table into the 2bar file.

Now instead of following the directions to fail the MAF and force it into SD, leave the MAF enabled. Then either set it to run blended like stock, or MAF only.
Using the 2 bar os let's you use the Boost enrichment table, which is nice with turbo setups.

Thanks for the info. It's something I eventually want to do . I was looking for the bluecat software, but i'm not having any luck. I found a zip file that didn't seem to have an executable file in it.
