May have bricked a e78 '12 Cruze Ecu... damn it.

Hit flash with the key in the acc postion, got 4 checks down the list then failed, tried to flash and now it doesn't get a response from the ECM. Right now I have the battery disconnected in a attempt to recover it here in a bit. Any other options?

This has happened to me as well a while back. I'm afraid you'll need a new PCM.

Ok the new ecu finally took a flash, flashes good like before. Now the VATS won't let the car start even after relinking it. What am I supposed to do now?

I can't get the damn security system to let me start the car. Nothing is working, ecu flashes but the car is immobilized. Can anyone help?

Why not turn off the security checks in the software and try to start it? Worry about fixing it once you're sure it runs.

What procedure did you use to re-link the VATS?

Disabled vats 1 and 2 as well as starter diag. Didn't work throws p0513, p0315 and p080a. Used the procedure in the hptuners help section.

I haven't had much luck using that utility. There is a procedure online by A1 Cardone for doing it for the different pass key types that works well.

Did you do a Write Entire after doing the VATS Patch?

Yep. Currently have a bench harness trying to unbrick the old ecu but it's not being cooperative.

most of us have done it too so dont feel left out. shoot someone walked up mid flash and i rolled the window down on a lsj and the power dip toasted it. sometimes we are unlucky.
