I've got a factory ECU at this moment, but it's auto and I need it to stay auto. I think I'm going to be stuck waiting for it to get figured out since it doesn't look like the FRPP or Roush strategies are going to be separate for the engine and trans. Am I correct in this?

I just used the SCT to flash the FRPP Crate file into a production Boss PCM because I needed a VIN in it to license the file. I have some ideas to try but I haven't had another car in here to play with and it's not a platform I mess with every day. I do have one or two crate PCM's kicking around if I could ever find the time to try and write a VIN into them. I haven't done a 6r80 in a swap/project, just regular GT's here. I think Ken Bjonnes did a Fox body in FL but you would have to confirm with him. Maybe they used the instrument cluster and pats from an 11up, I'm not sure...

Kevin, are you aware of a hardware difference between the factory 6R80 and MT82 copperhead? FRPP told me before that all the PCM's are the same,it's just a hard coded software strategy that each are flashed with..

on the same boat ... the afr is 35% lean with the current intake

I guess the only way is to put a restriction with the same diameter than stock.
Do you know the good diameter ? (stock diameter)

Mine is the same as stock which is 3.5 inches. Same distance from the TB as well and its still off 20+% near idle and part throttle.

you need to tune that thing...

I can read, scan but not licence it. What about an unlimited license for them (aka 12 cr?dits)

Here is the tune .... just yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy as vin

Also, my PCM is one of the very first crate engine PCM's from back in 2011. Do you, or anyone else know if there is a newer strategy I should ask for? I ran into a post on another forum about programming the crate engine with the M2A3_X01_Crate_Engine_6 file. Would this be something the dealers would have access to?

I'm not sure about any changes in the newer control pack strategies...I do know that the IDS system recognized the crate 6 strategy, but I wasn't the one punching the keys so didn't get to mess with anything...

    Hey Eric, TGIF...

Here's a weekly bump to check progress for all of us crate engine owners and tuners.

Looks like you guys figured out how to write the VIN which is killer! How can us mere mortals test it out for you?

I'm not trying to get the thread off topic, I will be tuning a coyote swap in a few months, hopefully after 2.25 officially releases. Is there anything to watch out for when you are tuning a Control Pack PCM, any curve balls where conventional 2011-2014 Mustang tuning advice does not apply? Good Luck with Testing!

In other words, what's the difference between a stock Mustang calibration and a control pack calibration? PATS is gone obviously, Emissions is gone too I guess. Any torque management? Also what requires the speed dial to be installed( I just opened another can of worms there)? Trying to get as good of a perspective as I can going into this.

Made it past the VIN hurdle.... WOOT!! Eric, can you help get what we need to log MAF Hz in 2.24? in the control pack PCM OS FPDM2_x01 ?

Ive deleted my vehicle data, even did a fresh install on both versions with last Friday's build. When I connect to my car, the PID disappears from the main table and I get unsupported parameter, and wont log MAF Hz.

Do you have to disable any emissions portions of the stock control pack tune or are they already sorted out? Torque Management?

Can you scan MAF Hz in 2.24 or MAF Period in 2.25 yet???

My PCM got sent across the united states to get a VIN programmed and I was sooooo exited to get to work! Nope, no way to scan and tune the MAF curve that I have found on the control pack yet. It wasnt added to the strategy.

Its like getting a brand new Ferrari and learning that gas stations have no gas...

    Eric, help please!!

I added the scanner definition today to 2.25.

The only issue is the FRPP PCM does not report the strategy ID like a typical OEM PCM, so we had to do a little work around. I have not been able to test it yet, but it should work.

Someone grab the latest scanner and take a VCM Info log and post it please.
