New 2.24 build up with new firmware(120) that fixes the issue with the previous firmware update that prevented standalone datalogging on some CAN based applications.

I tested it tonight on my E38 Camaro and P59 Silverado, everything works, including external sensors, inserting markers, and erasing logs with the 2 buttons on the interface.

Yeah, see post #227 from Bill, new 2.24 build has a new firmware. Problems are fixed as far as I can tell. Of course I've only got my own 2 cars here to test, an E38 2010 and a P59 2005. Don't have any other stuff to plug into at the moment.

I went to my customer page and downloaded 2.24.117.0 That is what was on my download page. The stand alone scanner still does not work for me after I plugged in the cable to my computer and did the firmware update. I "had" version 118 before---do I have the correct update? I saw the mention of 120 for the build #, but that is not what was available.

Hey Lakegoat, erase any logs on the interface and write a config to it. Mine wouldn't work at first either but once I did that, it worked.

I hate being dumber than a rock. I attached the cable to my laptop---opened scanner---open config---selected MPVI data log---write config, looks like it works.
Plug in cable to car, start car--push start---nothing. Hook up computer to cable---scanner works. I know that I am missing something simple.

Did you hold the record button down?

How long are you holding the start button for when you try to record? Gotta hold that for a couple seconds. Is the error light coming on?

I also always make sure there are no "unsupported" PID's or Sensors in my config before I use it for standalone. Never seems to be an issue when logging with the laptop, but I try to minimize sources of error when logging without the laptop.

I held the record button for about 5 seconds---nothing. Held it for 10 seconds--nothing. No error light
I am using the same config that I was using before I downloaded the .118 death star.
I will take out the voltage pid and see if that works.
