Novice Tuner question - E38 VVT with 4L80E application?

I'm new to the world of ECM tuning and would really appreciate some help. I didn't have luck with a search so here goes....

I plan to use the factory harness with an E38 ECM and pair it with a 4L80E transmission. The Escalade was set up with a 6 speed.
Can anyone here recommend a factory application that will work for on my ECM with VVT and the 4L80E trans so I can use it as a base tune?

    Thanks in advance!

I am not 100% sure but my understanding is that you would need a separate controller for the 4L80.

    what year escalade?
almost doesn't matter as e38 likely has separate tcm setup. it's easy to get a 4L80 tcm file for the t42 tcm on the escalade and do a write entire. now your tcm is working with a 4L80. you will need to look up the wiring for 4L80 t42 (HD vans are best start) though as the 4L80 has input AND output shaft speed sensors (you could disable it, but it's good to have). the 6L doesn't have input speed. might be other things as well. we just did 08 silverado just like this and no issues.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I have similar, the 07 E38 and harness for 6.2L, so can I get the T42 for a 4l80 and patch it into my harness, then dump the van programs in? Trying to figure what I need to source/buy...thanks!
