Can I deactivate the Cylinder Deactivation (Active Fuel Management) System?

Hello Racer Rob here and I have a customer who has a 2008 Chevy K1500 Pickup with the 6.0lt and
he absolutely hates the Cylinder Deactivation System.

Does the HP Tuner software allow me the ability to disable this system so it no longer activates?

Thanks for your help in advance!

So it's a L76 motor from like a vortec max truck??

If so, then yes you should be able to disable the DoD system.

I'd read the file from the truck and just make sure it's there before you licence the PCM so you arent out any money first.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    Thanks for the fast response.

It is a Generation IV small block V8 called the Vortec 6000 motor.

I was hoping to know I could do it 100% and if so I'm very interested in buying the program or working with someone who does in the Hillsboro Oregon Area and paying them to tune it out.

Anybody done this modification before and did it work?

    Thanks!

If it has DoD/AFM then the parameters will be in the tune to turn it off (but of course all the parts will still be there).

No one can really tell you for sure without seeing the tune file. I've never seen a vehicle with DoD that I could not turn it off in the tune.
