Shift points and converter lockup 2013 Mustang GT - 6R80 with Cobrajet manifold

    Hi!

I have a 2013 Mustang GT (Full weight premium) NA with a CJ manifold.
The car is making good power 449whp and 386wtq (Mustang Dyno)
The car was setup for a red line of 7,500 but in D was changing at 7,000 with my custom SCT tune.

With that setup I am running
    1.7 60ft
    7.6 @ 91 in 1/8
    11.9 @ 114 in 1/4
With the old setup same dyno was putting 370whp and 354wtq
    Previous results
    1.7 60ft
    7.7 @ 89 in 1/8
    12.1 @ 113 in 1/4
Obviously I am leaving a lot in the table because of the 7,000 rpm gear change.

I’ll appreciate any help to take a look at the tune to see if anything is missing. I’m trying to shift 7500 but do not know if the tranny shift points are correct and if the converter lock up is set properly.

To command a shift you have to reach the target MPH at WOT and target RPM or it is the one you reach first that commands the shifts?
Does the revs per mile in the speedo correction have an effect to command a shift or it just adjust speedo error?

Converter is a 4C , stock 3.15 gears and run it on 28” slicks.

    Thanks!

From what I have gathered so far, Ford uses the mph to shift at WOT. I always held each gear to rev limit to find my max mph for each shift. From looking at your tune, you pretty much just set your REV limit for each gear. Have you correlated your mph to shift rpm desired?

Yes and didn’t have any luck. Found a thread in another site suggesting that if you set your shift speed in the upper half of the TPS scale really high the shift would be commanded by rpm since it will be the first value you will reach. Tried that also and didn’t work.

    In theory here are my shift speeds at redline;

    Red Line 7500
    Tire Diameter 28.00”
    Final Axel Ratio 3.15
    Gear Ratio Speed
    1rst 4.17 47.58
    2nd 2.34 84.79
    3rd 1.52 130.53
    4th 1.14 174.05
    5th 0.87 228.06
    6th 0.69 287.55

I need a crash course “For Dummies” on how to adjust the shift points.

    What I’m missing?

I would raise RPM limits in the general tab for each gear to 8000 rpm and drop the shift rpm WOT in the auto shift speed tab to 7400 or so to start with.

You wouldn't happen to have any datalogs of the car specifically with transmission PIDS (assuming datalog would be in livelink) such as turbine speed, gear commanded, output shaft speed, transmission gear ratio, rpm, mph and torque source?

Also, is this with traction control on or off?

Overall, the tune seems to be going in the right direction..
